TL;DR

CompoundVision is a financial calculator application. The free tier is provided "as is" for personal use. The Pro tier is a paid subscription with additional tools and encrypted cloud sync. Nothing on this site is financial advice. You can cancel Pro at any time. EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Full details below.

1. Who we are

The site compoundvision.app ("CompoundVision", "we", "our") is operated by Marco B., an independent developer based in Spain. For questions about these Terms, email support@compoundvision.app. For GDPR and privacy matters, see our Privacy Policy.

This operator identification is provided per the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the Spanish Information Society Services Act (LSSI-CE, Ley 34/2002). Consumers residing in the EU, EEA, or UK retain all rights granted by mandatory consumer protection law, including the 14-day right of withdrawal for paid services (detailed in Section 4.5) and the right to bring complaints via the European Online Dispute Resolution platform.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CompoundVision (whether the free tier or Pro), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase a Pro subscription.

3. The Service

3.1 Free tier

The free tier includes all calculators that run entirely in your browser. No account is required. No data you enter is transmitted to our servers. Advertising is shown on free-tier pages and managed by Google's Consent Management Platform for EEA/UK/CH/California users.

3.2 Pro tier

The Pro tier is a paid subscription that unlocks: unlimited portfolio positions with live prices (crypto, stocks, funds, metals, cash), encrypted multi-device sync, DeFi and staking trackers, real estate and expense tracking, transaction log, net worth history, tax tools, portfolio analysis and risk x-ray, a command center dashboard, and an ad-free experience across the entire site. The list of Pro features may evolve over time.

3.3 License key

Upon purchasing a Pro subscription, you receive a UUID-formatted license key. The license key is the sole credential for Pro access. If you opted-in to email recovery during checkout, the key is also emailed to you. You are responsible for storing your license key securely. Without your license key, your encrypted portfolio data cannot be decrypted — not even by us.

You may use a single license key across multiple devices. Sharing your license key publicly or reselling it is prohibited and may result in termination.

4. Subscription and billing

4.1 Pricing and plans

Current pricing for monthly and annual plans is displayed on the Pro page. Prices are shown in EUR and include all applicable taxes.

4.2 Seller & payment processor

Pro subscriptions are sold by CompoundVision (operated by Marco B., Spain). Payments are processed via Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin, Ireland for EU customers; Stripe, Inc., San Francisco, USA otherwise). Stripe is a payment processor only. Your payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see them. By purchasing, you accept Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy for the payment portion, and these CompoundVision Terms for the service portion.

4.3 Automatic renewal

Pro subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) until cancelled. You will be charged the then-current price for the selected plan. We will notify you of any material price change at least 30 days in advance.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Stripe customer portal, accessible from your Pro account via the "Manage subscription" button or from your Stripe purchase confirmation email. Upon cancellation:

  • You retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
  • Your encrypted portfolio blob is retained for 90 days after the end of the period in case you resubscribe.
  • After 90 days, the blob is permanently deleted.
  • A minimal record of your license (for tax/audit compliance) is retained per our Privacy Policy.

4.5 Refunds and right of withdrawal

See our Refund Policy for details. In summary: EU/EEA/UK consumers have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU, and we offer a 14-day no-questions-asked refund policy to all customers worldwide.

4.6 Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will retry automatically per their dunning policy and email you reminders. If payment cannot be collected after repeated attempts, your subscription will be cancelled automatically and Pro access will end.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (beyond what is available client-side by design).
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, or breach security or authentication measures.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers or networks connected to the service, including via automated scripts that exceed reasonable rate limits.
  • Use the service to transmit malware, spam, or unlawful content.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute your Pro license key to third parties.
  • Use the service in violation of applicable law.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Where possible, we will notify you before termination and allow you to export your data.

6. Intellectual property

All content, code, design, text, and branding on CompoundVision are owned by the operator or its licensors, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. A Pro subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Pro features; it does not transfer any ownership.

The data you enter in calculators and portfolios remains yours. For encrypted Pro data, we technically cannot access it.

7. Not financial advice

CompoundVision is a calculation and tracking tool only. Nothing displayed on the site, produced by a calculator, derived from price feeds, or shown in the portfolio or risk analysis tools constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or any other type of professional advice. All calculations are based on inputs you provide and generic formulas that may not apply to your particular situation.

Investments carry risk. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Cryptocurrency, stocks, and other financial instruments can lose value. Always consult a qualified, licensed financial advisor before making investment decisions. Never rely solely on automated tools for financial decisions involving meaningful amounts of money.

You accept full responsibility for any decisions you make based on information or calculations from CompoundVision.

8. Third-party data and services

Price data is fetched from third-party APIs (CoinGecko, Financial Modeling Prep, Frankfurter). We do not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of third-party data. Prices may be delayed or incorrect. We are not liable for losses arising from reliance on third-party data.

9. Service availability and modifications

We strive to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, update features, or modify the service at any time. For material changes that reduce Pro features, we will provide reasonable notice. If we discontinue the Pro tier entirely, we will refund the unused portion of any active annual subscriptions on a pro-rata basis.

10. Warranty disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR SECURE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights granted to consumers under mandatory consumer protection law, including the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL COMPOUNDVISION BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) €50.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable mandatory law (e.g., gross negligence or wilful misconduct under some jurisdictions).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CompoundVision from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Data loss and user responsibility

While we take reasonable measures to protect your encrypted portfolio data (regular backups, R2 object storage redundancy), we are not responsible for data loss resulting from:

  • Loss of your license key (without it, encrypted data cannot be recovered).
  • Accidental deletion of your own data.
  • Third-party infrastructure failures beyond our control.
  • Force majeure events.

You are strongly encouraged to export your data periodically via the app's export feature.

14. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. You may cancel your Pro subscription as described in Section 4.4. We may terminate or suspend your access for breach of these Terms, fraud, or chargeback. Chargebacks on active subscriptions will result in immediate license deactivation.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, excluding conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms shall be submitted to the competent courts of the operator's domicile in Spain.

If you are a consumer residing in the EU, you retain the benefit of mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence. You also have the right to use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves or as legal requirements change. Material changes will be announced via a notice at the top of this page for 30 days and, if you are a Pro subscriber, via email if you opted-in to email recovery. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

17. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. No waiver of any provision shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver. These Terms together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and CompoundVision regarding the service.
